What is the difference between paper types?
Answer
There are 3 main types of paper; uncoated, silk and gloss. Uncoated Papers have no coating and as such have absorbent properties. This will effect the look of your final print job, uncoated papers dull down colours and image sharpness may deteriorate.
Silk papers have a low sheen coating meaning they are less absorbent, so inks don’t dry into the paper as much as they do on uncoated papers giving better colours and sharper images.
A Gloss paper has a higher sheen coating which further enhances colours and sharpness.
